Weird snack gives Moore energy (Photo: AAP Image)

Who: Demi Moore

What: Mum-of-three Demi Moore (pictured) keeps her svelte figure in shape and her energy levels high by snacking on apple slices smeared with peanut butter. What's her reason for indulging in this weird snack? Well, the peanuts help to boost metabolism and curb sugar cravings and the apples help to prevent bloating as well as boost brain power. Who knew?!

Peanut butter also contains good-for-you fats, which are a great concentrated source of energy. Better still, it contains a hefty dose of fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D and E that help to maintain healthy, glowing skin. Another skin saver is niacin, again found in high amounts in the nutty stuff. Niacin also helps in the release of energy from the food we eat.

Combined with energy-boosting apples, this snack is super-healthy and surprisingly tasty! You see, the humble apple contains a treasure trove of disease-fighting, mind-boosting vitamins and minerals. At the top of the brain-building list is boron, a mineral believed to improve mental alertness.
