Life is all about living long and being happy and healthy right? We all try hard every day to exercise, eat well, cleanse, tone and moisturise, not to smoke, lower the amount of alcohol we consume, opt for olive oil rather than canola oil … The list is endless.

Here we uncover five more must-do health habits that sometimes fall off the list, but help to achieve a more beautiful you.

1. Take vitamins and minerals Vitamins and minerals are key to keeping you healthy and assisting in making your body function properly. They're boost the immune system, assist with growth and development and lend a hand to cells and organs to help better do their jobs.

With today's busy lifestyle, it's sometimes hard to get your daily dose from foods, which is where multivamin tablets can be useful. Vitamin C is great for fighting off colds, vitamin E is essential for good skin, as is zinc. Vitamins A and D are great for boosting your immune system and maintains your calcium balance.

2. Laugh for at least 15 minutes a day Did you know laughing is one of the best methods to help boost your immune system and clear out dead waste products from organs and tissues? It's true. Laughing increases our intake of oxygen which then assists in moving lymph fluid around your body and kickstarts the body's waste system into gear.

3. Take a walk at lunch The stress of work and squinting at your computer for hours can sometimes leave you a little worse for wear throughout the day. We suggest you pack your joggers and force yourself to take 30 minutes away from your desk at lunch. Not only is it a good kilojoule burner for those who sit all day, breaking up your work day with a walk will boost your concentration levels and lead to a much more productive day and in return your stress levels will decrease.

4. Floss your teeth It's been reported that healthy teeth and gums actually prolong your life — while there is no proven research on this, mouth hygiene is still one of the most important daily must-do's. A clean, shiny and fresh-smelling set of chompers is a key beauty asset.

To prevent tooth cavities and fight bad breath, you need to remove plaque and germs, this means brushing twice a day and flossing once a day. Brushing and flossing are the most important things that you can do to keep your teeth and gums healthy and prevent gum disease.

5. Wear sunscreen According to medical experts, the radiation from sunlight causes 90 percent of skin ageing, and most of this has occurred by the time we're 20 years old. Wear a daily sunscreen on your face to keep your skin beautiful and youthful.
