Watch: The stars get behind Wharf4Ward

On Thursday, 13 October 2011, Sony Foundation Australia will take over the full line-up of restaurants at Sydney's Woolloomooloo Wharf to host a lunchtime fundraising extravaganza: Wharf4Ward.

The star-studded event will raise money for Sony Foundation's charity campaign 'You Can' to build specialised and age-appropriate youth cancer wards across Australia.

The event, which starts at 12pm will include live performances from leading Sony Music artists including Natalie Bassingthwaighte and The Whitlam's front man Tim Freedman.

"Wharf4Ward is a day of world-class entertainment and fabulous food at one of Sydney’s favourite dining destinations but the focus of the day is to raise much needed funds to help young Australians aged 15 – 30 survive cancer," said Sophie Ryan, Chief Executive Officer, Sony Foundation Australia.

"Cancer is the biggest disease killer of Australian teenagers and Sony Foundation is working with CanTeen to change this through our 'You Can' campaign.

"'You Can' aims to raise funds to establish specialised and age-appropriate youth cancer centres across Australia, the first of which is excitingly now underway in Perth."
