World record attempt for 100km on a treadmill

World record attempt: Twelve runners, one treadmill and 100km

This Friday, 3rd of Feb, world triathlon champion Craig Alexander, marathon legend Steve Moneghetti, 'Bondi Rescue' lifeguards Andrew 'Reidy; Reid and Adriel 'Bacon' Young, and Australian runner Lisa Corrigan will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest team to run 100km on a treadmill.

The Australian twelve person team will attempt to break the world record from SHIFT60 studio on Bondi Road in an effort to raise $100,000 for the KIDS Foundation, which works to rehabilitate the injured children and their families.

The event will see the team members run consecutively on one treadmill non-stop for approximately five and a half hours until the 100km target is reached.

The current world record is 5hrs 42 minutes and 32 seconds, and is held by a twelve person team from North Carolina USA.
