"Make sure she has plenty of water during the day and a daily glass of juice containing celery, carrot and apple would be beneficial to the kidneys."

Question:

My eight-year-old daughter has frequent urinary tract infections and it's been found she has a duplex kidney. She will be on low-dose antibiotics for a few months. I am giving her homeopathic treatment with Chinese herb tablets and a probiotic. Do you have any other suggestions that would be helpful for her?

Answer:

It sounds like you are already doing a lot to help your little girl. Make sure she has plenty of water during the day and a daily glass of juice containing celery, carrot and apple would be beneficial to the kidneys. Celery has a tonic effect on the kidney and contains a great deal of minerals for general good health. A diet that was mainly alkaline would also be a good idea. You can get lists of acid and alkaline foods on the Internet.
