Back pain

I think you could try homeopathy, which treats the whole person and would take into consideration your son's mental state...

Question:
My 18-year-old son has been in pain for 12 months now after it was found he had a stress fracture in his lower back at the T12 vertebrae. Over the past few months he has had a sympathetic nerve block in his spine. He has been going to the physiotherapist at least weekly, where he has had massage and acupuncture, and also doing Pilates exercises set out for him. Last week he went to someone different — a chiropractor, I think, — who said my son had the back of a 40-year-old and that his blood and organs aren't doing what they should, which is why he is in pain. My son is getting depressed over this prolonged pain and I don't know where to turn next. I was hoping you might have a suggestion; there must be something more I can do for him.

Answer:

Chronic pain is very hard to deal with for anyone and it is particularly hard for a young man who wants to be active. You have certainly tried a lot of things to help him. I think you could try homeopathy, which treats the whole person and would take into consideration your son's mental state, the fact he is becoming depressed, as well as the physical pain. I do hope he will find some relief and get back to his normal life quickly.
