Gum disease

Monday, May 12, 2008

Question:
I have early stages of this disease and I have been reading on the Internet that Manuka honey is now being used as a treatment. Can you give me any feedback? My oral hygiene is excellent and I go to the dentist regularly.

Answer:

Manuka honey has very strong antibiotic properties, so rubbing it on your gums could help.

Tea Tree oil is another excellent antibacterial agent. Dip your fingers in Tree Tea Oil and rub them over your gums daily. You may need to rinse and spit after as it is very strong.
