Night-time sugar cravings

"A combination of chromium, copper and zinc, called glucose tolerance factor is great for keeping the blood sugar levels stable."

Question:

I'm a 43-year-old shift worker and find after or around night shifts I just crave sugar. Is there a vitamin or mineral to help ward off these cravings because the adverse affect is the low I experience afterwards? It becomes a vicious circle.

Answer:

Shift working, especially nights, causes imbalances in your blood sugar levels and these swings cause you to crave sugar. I know it is hard to eat properly when you have lost touch with your regular eating patterns, and are sleeping most of the day.

The answer is to plan an eating program for the times you are awake and make sure you eat something every four hours. Make sure there is some protein in the first meal you have.

A combination of chromium, copper and zinc, called glucose tolerance factor is great for keeping the blood sugar levels stable.
