Question:
I have had chronic fatigue syndrome for 15 years. My worst problem is brain fog. Is there anything I can do or take to clear my head so that I can think clearly and remember more things?
Answer:
The first step is to make sure you're eating a very healthy diet with no processed foods. For two weeks, eat only fruit, vegetables and organic eggs with small amounts of fish and lean meat. No cheese! You will feel a lot worse during the first week, but that tells you something is happening. After six or seven days, you'll feel a lot better. Be very careful reintroducing foods to your diet; only add one food per two days and see how you feel. If your symptoms return, you will know that that food doesn’t suit you. This diet allows you to avoid wheat, dairy, colours, preservatives and additives.
There is a herb called bacopa you can buy in tablet form from a health-food store, this can have a wonderful effect on the memory.
