Question:

I religiously brush my teeth twice a day and use mouthwash often but my teeth never seem to be "pearly white". Could it be fixed permanently? Cleaning helps but soon they fade back to a disappointing off-white.

Answer:

If you really want to get your teeth pearly white then you need to consider professional teeth whitening. The whitening gel actually penetrates into the tooth structure and neutralises any pigments to "bleach" the teeth. Most results are colour stable, but obviously your teeth will be prone to re-staining depending on your lifestyle (coffee, red wine, tea, cigarettes etc).

You can opt for instant white with an in-chair treatment that can take as little as an hour, or try a professional take-home kit that will be equally effective (and cheaper). The results from professional teeth whitening can be pretty dramatic and it's the cheapest and easiest way to brighten up your smile.
