Question:
My teeth have big horrible gaps between them. My parents thought they would fill in over time but that hasn't happened. What could you do to fix my smile and how painful would it be?
Answer:
In most cases the most effective way of closing gaps involves orthodontics. Now, before you start imagining your mouth full of metal braces, you might want to think about Invisalign clear plastic aligners. Invisalign treatment makes use of a series of ultra-thin, clear plastic aligners that are worn in sequence for two weeks at a time and exert gentle pressure on the teeth to move them into ideal positions.
It is an effective, comfortable and attractive solution to braces and the results can be spectacular. There is a degree of pressure felt when you start wearing each new aligner, but that usually subsides within a few hours. Invisalign is fast becoming the most popular procedure performed in my practice.
