Question:
Can breast reconstruction be done even though mastectomies have left little loose skin on the chest wall?
Answer:
Yes they can be done. The objective in a breast reconstruction is to create a breast mound of the desired shape and size, provide skin coverage, and create a nipple and areolar on the apex of the mound. With extra skin it actually makes the procedure less technically difficult and is likely to achieve a better looking result.
