The number of kilojoules consumed in your day, above, is purely an indication of average values as based on a 70kg female.
They should be used as a guide only. Factors that may increase or decrease the amount of energy that you expend include:
- Intensity of work-out
- Your individual weight: if you weigh more, you will expend more energy and vice-versa
- Ambient temperature: the colder it is, the more energy you will expend
- Your physical condition
You also require a certain number of kilojoules to maintain the processes that keep you alive, such as breathing.
Always consult a doctor before embarking on vigorous physical exercise, and especially if you are over 40, unfit, pregnant,
have back pain and/or specific concerns about your health.
